Last Updated: March 14, 2025
By using Aruuri, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Aruuri (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"), our Privacy Policy, and any additional guidelines or rules we may provide. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users, specifically teachers managing student data.
2. Description of Service
Aruuri is a web-based educational platform designed for teachers to manage their students. Key features include:
- Tracking student attendance (e.g., present, late).
- Monitoring educational progress (e.g., Quranic surahs and ayahs).
- Subscription management with FREE (up to 2 active students) and PRO (up to 15 active students) plans via Stripe.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.
3. User Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use Aruuri.
- As a teacher, you represent that you have the authority to manage student data entered into the Service.
- Aruuri is not intended for use by children under 13. You are responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable laws regarding student data (e.g., parental consent).
4. Account Responsibilities
- Registration: You must provide accurate information (e.g., email, display name) when creating an account. You’re responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- Security: Notify us immediately at asknasarissa@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
- Student Data: You’re solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of student information (e.g., names, attendance, progress) you enter into Aruuri.
5. Subscriptions and Payments
- Plans: Aruuri offers a FREE plan (limited to 2 active students) and a PRO plan (up to 15 active students) via Stripe.
- Billing: PRO plan payments are processed monthly through Stripe. You agree to Stripe’s terms (see Stripe Services Agreement) for payment-related matters.
- Management: You may manage or cancel your PRO subscription via the Stripe Customer Portal, accessible from the Aruuri billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, after which you’ll downgrade to the FREE plan, limiting you to 2 active students.
- No Refunds: All payments for the PRO plan are non-refundable, even if you cancel mid-cycle, as you retain access to the Service until the billing period ends. Exceptions may apply if required by California law (e.g., for billing errors).
- Changes: We may adjust pricing or plan features with 30 days’ notice via email or in-app messaging.
6. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use Aruuri for illegal, harmful, or unauthorized purposes.
- Share, upload, or store data that violates third-party rights (e.g., privacy, intellectual property).
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or disrupt the Service.
- Misrepresent your identity or authority when using the Service.
7. Intellectual Property
- Our Rights: Aruuri, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by us and protected by copyright and other laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without permission.
- Your Data: You retain ownership of the data you enter (e.g., student names, attendance records). By using Aruuri, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to use, store, and process this data to provide the Service.
8. Data Storage and Security
- Local Storage: Aruuri stores user and student data in your browser’s local storage for offline access. This data is device-specific and may be lost if you clear your cache.
- Server Storage: Account and student data are stored in Supabase, our cloud database provider. We use reasonable measures to secure this data, but we’re not liable for breaches beyond our control.
- Backups: You’re responsible for backing up your data outside of Aruuri. We don’t currently offer a data export feature, but you may request one by contacting us.
9. Termination
- By You: You may stop using Aruuri at any time or delete your account directly from your profile page in the Service. You may also request data deletion by contacting us at asknasarissa@gmail.com, and we’ll process it within 30 days, subject to legal obligations.
- By Us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or for any reason at our discretion, with or without notice.
- Effect: Upon termination (whether by you or us), your access to the Service ends, and we may delete your account data from our servers (subject to legal obligations). If you cancel your PRO subscription without deleting your account, you’ll downgrade to the FREE plan, limiting you to 2 active students.
10. Limitation of Liability
- Aruuri is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied (e.g., fitness for a purpose, uninterrupted access).
- We’re not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (e.g., data loss, lost profits) arising from your use of the Service, to the fullest extent permitted by California law.
- Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, if any.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or losses arising from your use of Aruuri, your data, or your violation of these Terms.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted here with an updated “Last Updated” date. Continued use of Aruuri after changes means you accept the new Terms. Significant updates may be communicated via email or in-app notifications.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of California, though we encourage you to contact us first at asknasarissa@gmail.com to resolve issues informally.
